Chrome-free passivation
Characteristics of chromium-free passivation:
Suitable for aluminum and zinc
Operating temperature is 20–40°C lower.
In the amphoteric agent process, it is easier to control the bath parameters.
Chromium-free, phosphorus-free passivation film, used for pretreatment prior to painting.
Provides excellent corrosion protection for metals and exhibits strong adhesion during application.
Widely used in manufacturing processes such as those for trackless trains.
When tested under ASTM B 117 conditions, this process exhibits corrosion resistance comparable to that of conventional chromium‑containing conversion coatings.
The conversion coating meets the impedance requirements of MIL-C-5541, achieving Grade 3.
The operating conditions encompass a wide range of values for time, temperature, and concentration.
Compared with the conventional chromium‑yellow passivation process, standard baking has no effect on the resulting conversion coating.
Cleaning the conversion coating in hot water does not affect its corrosion resistance.
Reduce wastewater treatment steps compared to using chromium.
