Chemical passivation film
The process by which aluminum and its alloys, in chromate or salt solutions, undergo chemical reactions to form a stable, protective metal conversion coating on their surfaces.
Advantages:
1. High production efficiency, low costs, and excellent product consistency.
2. High film-forming efficiency and minimal dimensional variation, making it suitable for products requiring high dimensional accuracy.
3. Corrosion resistance is a characteristic of chemical oxidation.
4. The color ranges from earthy yellow to golden yellow and possesses a certain decorative appeal.
5. It exhibits excellent electrical conductivity and strong paint adhesion, making it an outstanding primer for electrostatic powder coating.
Performance:
1. Appearance: Light golden yellow to yellow-brown, with a fine, uniform film that is glossy, non‑powdery, and free of flow marks.
2. The membrane weight per unit area is approximately 0.2–1.3 g/m².
3. Adhesion: After drying the chromate conversion coating, rub the coating surface repeatedly with filter paper 40 times after 24 hours; no coating delamination is observed.
4. Corrosion Resistance: According to the method specified in the national standard GB/T 10125-1997, a continuous neutral salt spray test was conducted for 168 hours, and no obvious corrosion spots were observed on the specimen surface.
