Product Description

Aluminum alloy hard anodizing is a surface‑treatment process that uses electrochemical methods to form a high‑hardness, wear‑ and corrosion‑resistant functional conversion coating on the surface of the aluminum alloy substrate.
Key requirements that customers should be aware of when performing hard anodizing:
1. Acute-angle fillet
To round the edges and corners, ensure that the fillet radius is no less than 0.5 mm to prevent edge and corner burnout caused by localized overheating of the part.
2. Surface Finish
After hard anodizing, the surface of relatively rough parts can become smoother than before, while the brightness of relatively smooth surfaces may decrease by 1 to 2 grades.
3. Allowance for part dimensions
The increase in part dimensions is approximately half the thickness of the oxide film formed.
4 Specialized Jigs
It is essential to ensure excellent contact between the fixture and the workpiece; otherwise, breakdown or erosion of the contact area may occur.
5. Local Protection
Arrange different machining operations according to the part’s surface finish and dimensional accuracy; insulate surfaces that do not require hard anodizing by applying an anti‑electrolytic coating or installing sealing gaskets.
6. Incoming Material Grade
Anodic electrolysis of different materials cannot be performed in the same bath. The aluminum alloy’s composition and heat‑treatment condition must be clearly indicated.
