Product Description

Magnesium alloy micro-arc oxidation is an electrochemical surface‑treatment process based on plasma discharge that enables the in situ formation of a ceramic‑like oxide coating on the substrate. The resulting coating exhibits high hardness, excellent corrosion resistance and insulating properties, and strong adhesion, making it the preferred method for converting magnesium alloys into protective surface treatments. However, challenges remain, including relatively high surface roughness, elevated energy consumption, and a tendency for edge and corner areas to over‑burn; these issues impose stringent requirements on pre‑treatment and have led to its widespread use in protecting lightweight components for aerospace, aviation, and precision‑equipment applications.
