The stainless steel bluing (also known as blackening) process is a high‑temperature steel oxidation technique that builds upon the traditional steel bluing formulation by incorporating active metallic elements, resulting in enhanced oxidizing power and superior penetration. Its key advantage lies in its ability to produce a highly dense, corrosion‑resistant, true black oxide film on the surfaces of high‑alloy steels, martensitic steels, and austenitic steels, while significantly improving the corrosion resistance and blackness of various carbon steels.
