SY-204B long‑acting aluminum alkaline etchant is a neutral liquid product. When combined with NaOH, it forms an alkaline etching bath that provides matting and leveling effects, enabling matte etching of aluminum. The purpose is to impart a satin‑matte or matte finish to aluminum parts that have not undergone mechanical machining or polishing, prior to anodizing. SY-204B increases the tolerance of Al³⁺ ions in the alkaline solution from 40 g/L to 140 g/L.
