SY-204 alkaline etchant is a pale yellow, alkaline liquid that contains no nitrates, chromates, or chlorides. In alkaline etching baths for aluminum and aluminum alloys, it effectively suppresses over‑etching, surface pitting, and enhances surface brightness—achieving the “bright E6 finish” specified in German standards. It also removes minor surface irregularities and burrs, such as tool‑mark lines from machining, abrasions, and scratches, leaving the aluminum surface with a uniform, fine sandblasted decorative finish. The product is non‑hazardous to humans and is both economical and environmentally friendly.
