The laser‑energy‑absorbing film recently developed by San Yong is known internationally as Bilatal. Its development was initiated under the national Key Scientific Research Project No. 02 (the Chip Engineering Program), and both this project and the “Shenguang” ignition program have designated such oxide films as priority research topics. Its primary function is to achieve complete absorption of laser energy by the surfaces of aluminum‑alloy components in laser systems.
Previously, laser‑energy‑absorbing films were unavailable in China. Moreover, the three‑layer laser‑energy‑absorbing substrate film has passed testing by the relevant national authorities and has already surpassed the technical level of comparable U.S. products, laying a solid foundation for the early advancement of China’s “Shenguang” ignition project.
