Product Description

Stainless steel passivation is a corrosion‑preventive process that forms a dense passive film on the surface using chemical passivators. Austenitic stainless steels readily develop a stable passive film, exhibiting excellent corrosion resistance; in contrast, martensitic stainless steels, with their higher carbon content, are more challenging to passivate and require stringent control of pickling and activation parameters. This process does not alter the dimensions of the workpiece and enhances rust resistance by removing free iron from the surface; it is widely employed for precision components, with proper environmental management of waste liquids required.
