Product Description

Alodine coating is a chromium‑based chemical conversion coating for aluminum alloys. It forms a thin conversion layer through a chemical immersion process, resulting in minimal dimensional changes to the workpiece while providing moderate corrosion resistance and maintaining electrical conductivity. This coating significantly enhances the adhesion of paint and adhesive bonds; however, its wear resistance is relatively poor. It is commonly used as a pretreatment for aerospace components and is available in both hexavalent chromium‑containing and environmentally friendly trivalent chromium‑based formulations.
Alodine is the domestic trade name for Henkel’s aluminum alloy chromate chemical conversion coating product, Alodine 1200S. It forms a thin conversion layer through a chemical immersion process. The coating is exceptionally thin, minimizes dimensional changes to the workpiece, offers moderate corrosion resistance, and preserves electrical conductivity. It significantly enhances the adhesion of paint and adhesive bonds and exhibits self‑healing properties in humid environments. It is widely used as a pre‑treatment for aerospace components and complies with the MIL‑DTL‑5541 military standard.
