Oxidized to black

Image Name

Black anodizing is a process in which aluminum is first subjected to anodic oxidation and then treated with a black dye. It involves using organic dyes to diffuse into and fill the pores of the oxide film. To achieve excellent black‑dyeing results on aluminum and its alloys, the oxide film must meet the following criteria: a certain porosity, strong adsorption capacity, appropriate thickness, and pore radii of approximately 10 micrometers. Oxide films that satisfy these requirements include sulfuric‑acid anodized films and ceramic‑type anodized films, with sulfuric‑acid anodized films being preferred.
