Before anodizing
The surfaces of processed aluminum products invariably exhibit varying degrees of contamination and defects, including dust, metal oxides, oil residues, welding fluxes, corrosive salts, burrs, and minor scratches. After machining into blanks, these parts are first subjected to sandblasting and mechanical polishing to remove major imperfections. Prior to anodizing, a thorough cleaning is essential to expose a clean, bare substrate, ensuring smooth oxidation and yielding an oxide film that exhibits strong adhesion to the base material, meets specified color and thickness requirements, and offers excellent resistance to corrosion, wear, and weathering.
Aluminum alloy pretreatment process:
Mechanical pre-treatment includes sandblasting, wire brushing, polishing, and vibratory finishing, among others.
Chemical pretreatment includes: alkaline degreasing, acidic degreasing, neutralization, chemical polishing or electrolytic polishing, brightening with alkaline sandblasting, and acid sandblasting, among others.
