Hard anodizing
Key requirements that customers should be aware of when performing hard anodizing:
1. Acute-angle fillet
To prevent damage caused by localized overheating of components, sharp edges and corners shall be chamfered with a radius of not less than 0.5 mm.
2. Surface Finish
After hard anodizing, the surface of relatively rough parts becomes smoother than before, while the brightness of relatively smooth surfaces decreases by 1 to 2 grades.
3. Allowance for Part Dimensions
The increase in part dimensions is approximately half the thickness of the oxide film formed.
4 Specialized Jigs
It is essential to ensure that the fixture and the part maintain excellent contact; otherwise, breakdown or damage to the contact areas of the part may occur.
5. Local Protection
Arrange different machining operations according to the part’s surface finish and dimensional accuracy; insulate surfaces that do not require hard anodizing by applying insulating paint or installing sealing gaskets.
